This work formed part of the Rothko Portfolio, produced in 1973 as a commemoration/tribute to Mark Rothko. The portfolio consisted of a set of thirteen screenprints, lithographs, etchings and aquatints printed in colours, by Patrick Caulfield; Merlyn Evans; Adrian Heath; Patrick Heron; John Hoyland; John Hubbard; Paul Huxley; Allen Jones; Henry Moore; Victor Pasmore; Bridget Riley; William Scott; and Richard Smith, on mould made paper, each signed, dated and numbered in pencil by the artists. In addition to the edition, there were seventeen proofs. The works were printed by Kelpra Studios, the Royal College of Art, Burleighfield printing house, I.M. Imprint, Lacouriere Freland and White Ink Studios. Published by the Mark Rothko Memorial Trust. Deckled edges, printed to the edge. Framed in a heavy gilded frame.
