About the artist: Aldo Luongo is an Argentinian artist best known for his contemporary interpretation of Impressionistic figurative painting. Throughout his drawing and oil painting practice, he frequently and specifically explores the relationship between two figures in embrace. Born in 1941 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Luongo studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires before moving to the United States to play soccer professionally for the New York Cosmos. Continuing to follow his artistic ambitions, he found later success in producing artwork for various sporting events, highlighted by his title of official Olympic Artist, World Cup Artist, and Sports Artist of the Year throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.

Aldo Luongo
