As a graffiti writer who started out in the mid-80s, André is known for his distinctive stick character ‘Mr. A’ which he drew everywhere throughout the streets of Paris during the late 1990s. Nowadays he is also a recognised as a night-life entrepreneur, being the face of a host of nightclubs in Paris, Tokyo and New York, and as the editor of the Paris issue of French fashion magazine Purple. In 2009 he appeared together with his Mr. A character in a film for Belvedere Vodka as part of their advertising campaign and he most recently featured in the new Banksy film ‘Exit Through The Gift Shop’. The image of Mr. A has been presented onto fashion accessories, many of which were sold in the Paris boutique he owned with his ex-wife, as well as on a range of surfboards for Quicksilver. Eyestorm are excited to be publishing these two screenprints with the artist, which feature the infamous fictional character that he is best known for.
