Ann Conner’s Brentwood Series of six woodcuts was created and published in 2010. These large woodcuts reference shapes that seem familiar and even banal. She arranged and carved them into plywood matrices which were printed using colors she selected to reference the architectural colors of Brentwood, California. As a suite, the woodcuts create a strong sense of harmony and singly the prints stand alone. Brentwood 1 is printed in a bright orange which is often seen in construction sites and fast food architecture.
