A 4-color etching and aquatint printed on Arches Cover paper. The print was inspired by the film of the same title made by the artist and her husband James Hatch. “Billops and Hatch are catalysts at the center of the film, and like a modern Virgil and Dante, they drive, cajole and lead the film’s cast through a tour of the contemporary landscape of racism”. In the print a couple is depicted standing outside the “KKK Boutique”. The woman’s dress is decorated with burning crosses. The artist self-published the edition, and it was produced in collaboration with Master Printer Jonathan Higgins at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. “The KKK Boutique Ain’t Just Rednecks” was printed in an edition of 35, and the available impression is a signed and numbered printer’s proof.
