Andrade’s incorporation of various unusual materials, such as synthetic fabrics from Colombia and color xerox prints, into his monotypes demonstrates his willingness to “push the limits” of the print medium, as well as his desire to cross-pollinate his printmaking experience at Manneken Press with elements of his own studio practice.

Carlos Andrade is a Colombian-born artist living and working in New York. In addition to his work in printmaking, Andrade creates sculptural installations using common, everyday objects such as children’s toys, plastic utensils, etc. and LED lights. His work has been shown in galleries and museums in South America, Europe and the United States.
