Christoph Pöggeler (born in 1958) became known for his stubborn image esthetic, for which he has already been awarded the Rheinischer Kunstpreis.
He represents a contemporary realism that goes beyond the superficial. His virtuoso and sometimes poetic graphics surprise and irritate. They appear to be on a wooden background, which lends these works an extraordinary atmosphere.
