My Window is a large limited edition hard-cover baby sumo book with clamshell box produced by Taschen in 2019 as part on an edition of 1,000 signed copies that has sold out.

This large format book features 120 iPhone and iPad drawings selected by Hockney which are displayed in chronological order. They show each fleeting moment in the changing landscape from his home in Yorkshire – the images capture colourful sunrises and sunsets and beautiful scenes throughout the seasons to experience time through Hockney’s eyes.

David Hockney, born in 1937, is a prolific 20th-century British artist renowned for his diverse exploration of painting, printmaking, drawing, videography, and digital art. His iconic style, marked by warmth and vibrant colors, delves into still life, portraits, landscapes, and personal themes like sexuality. In 2018, his “Portrait of an Artist” set a record, selling for $90 million.

The Artist

David Hockney

Born in Bradford England on the 9th July 1937 David Hockney was interested in art from a very early age, and was an admirer of Fragonard, Picasso and Matisse. The fifth of six children his parents encouraged his artistic experimentation. He went to the Bradford College of Art 1953-57. To fulfil his national service, he worked in hospitals as he was a conscientious objector to war. Then in 1959 he was accepted into the Royal College of Art, Graduate school in London.
