THREE PROOFS (two of which are likely unique) OF THIS EARLY WINKLER ETCHING, THAT TOGETHER OFFER A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO OBSERVE WINKLER’S PRINTMAKING TECHNIQUE.
A proof of the first state, a proof of the second state, and a proof of the third (and final) state (10 impressions of this final state were printed). The plate was cut down during this process, and the sheet size is variable.
All three proofs are on fine wove paper, and all are signed by the artist.
They are all in excellent condition (aside from a faint marginal stain, well away from the image, to the proof of the first state).
