125 copies printed with dry stamp for the ‘Verlag der Dichtung’, 1st portfolio, Potsdam 1922, of which 25 copies on Japan and 100 copies on laid paper. With the handwritten address of the printer Voigt or Felsing.
Depicted is the artist’s wife, Siddi Heckel, and Walter Kaesbach, the museum director and art historian and the leader of Heckel’s medical unit in Flanders. Reading and reading aloud played a major role in Heckel’s studio in Berlin and especially at the front. In particular, Stefan George’s writings and Jean Paul’s Titan were read aloud.
