This is one of two lithographs executed by Barlach for the poem “Brüder” (“Brothers”) by Christian Morgenstern. The two lithographs were published on a single sheet along with the text of the poem.
THIS IS A PROOF SIGNED BY BARLACH AND ANNOTATED “II Zustand Probedruck” (“Second state: working proof”). NO OTHER PROOF OF THIS LITHOGRAPH IS KNOWN.
Printed on fine wove paper with huge margins.
In excellent condition.
