Woodcut on strong copperplate printing cardboard. Mounted on foot-cardboard by the artist, 1911. Dube H 177 I. One of 6 known prints by the artist. Marked on the foot-cardboard by the artist with the Schiefler-number «167» in ink. With the estate-stamp and the numbering «H 167 I» in ink on the verso. The work is registered in the Ernst Ludwig Kirchner Archives.
Earlier catalogues raisonnés: Schiefler H 167. There the description by Kirchner and Schiefler:
‘The upper body of a naked girl lying on her left side, leaning her head against a pillow and with her right hand under her left temple. Hand under the left temple (half seen from the side, to the right), eyes closed. The left edge of the picture intersects the back behind the right shoulder. Shoulder and the lower edge of the picture the left breast.’
