Etel Adnan was a renowned Lebanese-American artist, poet, and writer, whose work bridged the worlds of visual art and literature. Born in Beirut in 1925, Adnan’s multicultural upbringing in Lebanon, France, and the United States deeply influenced her creative practice. Her art is characterized by vibrant, abstract landscapes that reflect her deep connection to nature, particularly her love for the Mediterranean. A central theme in her work is the exploration of identity, displacement, and the human condition.
