Eve Arnold was born in 1912 in Pennsylvania, to Russian-Jewish parents. She is most known for her photos of Marilyn Monroe on the set of Monroe’s last film in 1961. She has also photographed other public figures such as Queen Elizabeth II, Malcolm X and General Eisenhower.
In 1980 she received the lifetime achievement award from the American society of magazine photographers. In 1995 Arnold was appointed Master Photographer by the International Centre of Photography in New York, the most prestigious photographic award in the world.
