Flow (P15) and Flow (16) are the latest prints to be released from Gerhard Richter’s P series. The artist describes these editions as “facsimile objects” that are an offshoot of his paintings. Some have been altered slightly, while others represent paintings that no longer exist. Printed by renounced publisher, Heni Publishing, these high quality prints are based on the artists Flow paintings, which were created by capturing poured enamel paints on a glass surface. This print is a chromogenic print of a high-resolution photograph of the original, mounted on aluminum.

The Artist

Gerhard Richter

German artist Richter Gerhard is renowned for both abstract and realistic paintings, glasswork and photography. Alongside contemporaries such as Sigmar Polke and Georg Baselitz, he pioneered the movement known today as New European Painting. New European Painting was an artistic movement that expressed the sentiments in Europe after World War II, such as survival, memories, emotions and post-war life. Gerhard did not limit himself to a single style and cites Picasso and Jean Arp as influences in this regard.
