Takeda (b. 1948) is a master of the line which is beautifully executed in intricate detail. He is best known for his “Genpei” series of silkscreen prints which depicts warring clans of twelfth century Japan. Here is the thirteenth in the series. Note the stunning features which appear in the gold leaf background. Takeda was the first Japanese contemporary artist to have a solo exhibition at the British Museum and his works are in its permanent collection
