Born in 1930, Kuntake started to concentrate on print-making in 1979 and chose the silkscreen technique as his medium.
Kunitake focuses on simple landscape and nature scenes giving them a misty and dream-like quality. He utilises beautiful pastel colours of blue and green tones, or purple, and sometimes soft red and orange. He is renowned for scenes of white horses grazing by the lake, river or in the mountains.
