Irene Graham is a printmaker based in London.
Her most recent work has been a process of reflection of past images combined with the new. Irene’s work is firmly rooted in the intaglio process using etching and drypoint as her main way of communicating. The images are always an intensely personal exploration of her subjects, ranging from her children to bulls to everyday objects. Her current work is a journey through Greek mythology and ancient history. She explores the characters and creatures of myth combined with the ancient depiction of women, particulary the pre historic statues of ‘Venus’. These images reference the stories of the past and how they may connect with the present day.
Irene came to printmaking later in life studying the craft at East London Printmakers, City Lit and most recently Morley College.
She has exhibited at the WCPF for the on 3 occasions and her artwork has also been included in The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
