Two impressions of this wonderful–and very rare–drypoint on fine laid paper, one avant la lettre and one with Sagot’s address.
The avant la lettre impression is of the greatest rarity, and is signed by the artist just below the image. Impressions of the final state, with Sagot’s address, are also very rare.
Both are in excellent condition.
Both impressions are from the collection of Auguste Tricaud (born 1846), with his tiny inkstamp in the margin (Lugt 182)–these two proofs have been together since they were printed.
