Description: The images in this series were made during a 2022 residency in Spain. Desmai is the Catalan language name of the trees depicted. Mokulito refers to the print technique developed in the 1970’s by Professor Seishi Ozaku in Japan. The process adapts the principles of lithography but employs plywood rather than a stone plate. It combines the beautiful tonal gradations possible with lithography materials with the crisp cut marks of woodcut.
