This piece is 2 panels. Each panel measures 48 x 22 inches. The two panels are to be displayed side by side with 4 1/2 in. between panels.
Many of Baldessari’s work require a specific way of framing them, so the viewer can achieve the complete effect of the piece. Not only is this piece framed with the exact specific frame Baldessari required for this piece (face size, width size, and depth), but it is also mounted with Baldessari’s specific mounting instructions. The white rag matte (background) is to have different sizes at the margins. For example, the top and bottom margins are exactly the same, but the outer and inner margins differ. The reason for this is that there is supposed to be a 4/12 in. “space between”.
