AN UNRECORDED VARIANT.
Friedlaender first etched the plate in 1950 and printed a few proofs (see Schmücking 65). In 1965 he reworked the plate extensively and issued a few more proofs (like the one I offer here). Also in 1965 he used the same plate for an extremely rare exhibition poster (“Jonny [sic] Friedlaender in niedlichs bücherdienst eggert märz 1965”). He used the plate for another poster in 1968 (Schmücking 474).
Printed on extremely fine wove paper.
Signed by the artist.
In perfect condition.
