“Untitled III” is a metalpoint drawing on a white acrylic ground on a cradled wood panel. The drawing was made using copper. Metalpoint is a drawing technique using soft metals, which leave a trace on certain matte grounds. The wire is held in a stylus, and value is achieved by repeated marking, allowing more metal to transfer to the ground. Darker grounds bring out the reflective qualities of the metal while on lighter grounds it appears more of a gray. The metals will oxidize over time and change the visual qualities of the drawing. The drawing has had an archival fixative applied to the surface.
