Joza Bělohorský Biography

Czech artist (born in Austria). In 1910 he exhibited in ‘Salon des Independants’ and ‘Salon d’Automne’ in Paris. In 1922 he was at Prague and exhibited at ‘The House of Artists’.

He lived in Paris but after a German occupation of Paris in 1942 he moved to St. Ives, Cornwall, UK as a refugee.

He was mainly a portrait painter but also worked in pastels and etchings. In 1945 he featured on Show Day and was represented in the 1945 touring show. There are not precise dates of birth or death but it is believed that Josa Bělohorský was still alive in 1968.
