JR (French, b. 1983), a self-proclaimed “photograffeur,” is best known for his large-scale photographic portraits which he pastes on buildings around the globe. For the 30th anniversary of the Louvre pyramid, JR created a huge collage with the help of 400 volunteers. ‘Au Louvre, 30 Mars 2019, 6H50’ documents their collaborative efforts to cut and paste 2,000 strips of paper onto the ground to form the artist’s largest collage to date.
