A beautiful livre d’artiste, illustrated with NINE ORIGINAL LOOSE FULL-PAGE HORS-TEXTE ETCHINGS BY JULES JOETS, EACH OF WHICH IS JUSTIFIED (15/44) AND SIGNED IN PENCIL.
One etching is a portrait of Fort; the other eight are dramatic landscapes depicting the North of France and Belgium (specifically Flanders), often including farmhouses and other rustic buildings.
Edition limited to 44 numbered copies, of which this is one of 37 printed on fine Arches laid paper, with the etchings on fine Arches wove paper.
A presentation copy, signed and inscribed by Joets on the half-title.
Folio. Loose as issued in original wraps. FINE AND BRIGHT. In the original board chemise and slipcase.
