KAWS began producing figurines in the late 1990s, which immediately became popular with collectors of “”art-toys””. By dealing directly with branding, production and distribution, his toys compel their collectors to consider what the commodity-status of art objects is today.
Designed by KAWS, the JPP figures were modeled after the “Koban,” the Japanese police, and features the artist’s characteristic handling of subjects with an “”X”” for each eye. This is sold in the original packaging and guaranteed authentic (beware fakes/ bootlegs on the market). Further images are available on request.
