Fallen Fruits is a beautiful abstract soft ground etching and spit bite aquatint with bold lines reminiscent of Japanese calligraphy superimposed over a textural ground with additional calligraphic marks. Printed in ultramarine blue on 100% cotton rag paper, signed in pencil lower right corner. The image size is 20″ x 16”.
Kumi Korf, whose work uses a wide range of media and techniques, holds an MFA in printmaking from Cornell University. She also studied architecture in her native Japan. Her most recent concentration is on intaglio printmaking and artists’ books and teaches sculptural book workshops nationwide. Annual solo exhibitions are at Chandler Fine Art, San Francisco, with others nationally and internationally.
