In 1992, Lee Smith III created this etching with line etching on copper plate, then added a stage-bit aquatint. With his own hand, Smith burnished select areas to be lighter into the aquatint. Editioning began in 1993 and an edition of 24 was pulled using a mixed blue onto Rives BFK.
Smith is known for his nostalgic scenes referencing a mysterious childhood.
This impression is one of Flatbed Press’s publisher’s proofs and is designated as Flatbed IV.
