Liliana Porter’s tongue in cheek etching is a two-plate etching, printed onto one sheet to contrast a photographed plaster miniature bust of Che Guevara with Porter’s printed rendering of the same Che Guevara likeness. Titled “Drawing Lesson”, Porter’s work asks us about reality, icons, and the traditional concept of “drawing” from life. A special touch to this print is the “chine colle” process used with the printed drawing seen in the detail.
