A fine satirical drawing by Louis Jou (Lluís Jou, in the original Catalan), doubtless intended for publication. It seems to be an allegory of Germany trying to rejoin the international financial system after World War I.
Penciled text reads: “Retour du neveu prodigue. Comme tu me le dis, je te crois, mais si je l’avais vu, je n’auré [sic] pas cru.”
On good wove paper.
Signed lower left in ink.
A few tiny marginal tears repaired (not visible on front), else in very good condition.
