Created in March and April of 2006, and printed posthumously with permission from the estate. Jimenez had informally approved the drawing on the stone before his unforeseen death in June. The complete stone edge (4′ x 3′) is also printed.

Luis Jimenez was a sculptor and printmaker whose monumental, polychromed fiberglass sculptures dot the American landscape. Drawing upon the culture of Hispanics in America, he presented people of the barrios at work and at play. Sometimes controversial, his works were always honest and heartfelt portrayals of his rich heritage.
