This series of three prints is inspired by Marc Quinn’s Labyrinth paintings, which explore and challenge a contemporary surveillance culture in which individual identity is reduced to a fingerprint. As Quinn comments, “we [have] become encoded into a unique abstraction, which is also profoundly figurative.” The concept of identity has been a constant throughout Quinn’s career, perhaps most famously with his original self-portrait, Self (1991), as well as his Iris works and DNA series.
