Arty-Fact: Rila Fukushima is a Japanese fashion model and actress. Rila originally applied for a desk job at a Tokyo modelling agency and was persuaded to consider a modelling career instead. Since then, she has appeared in various international fashion publications and advertising campaigns, most notably in multi-national editions of Vogue Magazine.
Rila was awarded the “Vogue Japan Women of the Year” in 2013. She started her acting career with the 2013 Hollywood film The Wolverine. Rila played Tatsu Yamashiro/Katana in Season 3 of the American action-adventure television series Arrow and the Red Priestess in Game of Thrones.
Rila is mainly known in Japan for her role in the historical fiction television series Gunshi Kanbei. Her latest film appearance is in the Japanese action film GONIN Saga which premiered in September 2015.
