This acrylic on paper painting was made using the same pigments the artist mixed to create an room installation painting during his exhibition at the Museum of New Art in Portsmouth, NH that runs from October 2021 through February 2022. It is painted on a sheet of Hahnemühle Edition paper 600 g/m2. It is one of five large scale paintings on paper created on site at the museum.
Markus Linnenbrink is a German painter best known for his room-sized painted installations, sculptures and epoxy resin paintings on panel. Working within the genre of American Colour Field painters, such as Gene Davis and Morris Louis, the artist’s work incorporates wobbly vertical stripes and dots of bright, glossy colour. He publishes his prints exclusively with Center Street Studio.
