“Mind Gap” by Matt Magee is an etching and aquatint, hand-printed from two copper plates in cadmium red and dark brown on white Rives BFK paper in an edition of 20. The print builds builds on Magee’s well established interests in conceptual notions of language and iterative processes relating to stacking and sequencing. Using templates and measuring tools Magee drew the images directly onto copper plates, leaving space at the margins so formal information became centralized, focused and symbolic. The forms and their titles are suggestive but non-explicative. Each impression is signed and numbered by the artist in pencil along the front lower margin.
