Mikhail Margolis was born and raised in Moscow, USSR. He went to soviet school and after much suffering managed to finish it.
He then was enlisted to university where he studied history. Few years later his family moved to the USA. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in computer science. After moving to San Francisco he started to develop a strong interest in b/w photography, opening a gate to his creative side.
In the beginning of the new century Mikhail fled to Paris, France. Once there he couldn’t resist the temptations and started drifting towards “milieux artistiques” away from his office jobs. He participated in various artistic events, from building mobile music structures for Fête de la Musique, to acting as Art Director at ArtParis’08 event. At the same time he went back to school and did studies in animation, changing his career path. He currently works for various animation studios in France.
In 2009 with financial support from Arcadi and SCAM he created an interactive installation based on animated postal stamps, which was exposed in festivals in Paris and at exhibition Venice.
