Nancy Milner’s etching uses multiple plates and repeated layerings of coloured inks shifting the scale and speed of her painterly approach to create an intensity of image and intimacy of mark making that is a unique consequence of the etching medium.
The Royal Academy’s Keeper’s print prize award offered Milner the first experience of working in a printed medium. The resulting etching produced using multiple plates and repeat layerings of coloured inks dramatically shifts the scale and speed of her painterly approach by creating an intensity of image and intimacy of mark-making that is a unique consequence of the etching medium.
All proceeds from the sale of RA Editions prints go directly to support the Royal Academy Schools.
