On wove paper. 1 of 15 copies. Signed lower right. Verso with the estate stamp (Lugt 1829 d) and monogrammed by Joseph Müller and titled “II. Landscape 4.”
This lithograph is extremely rare.
Despite major events in Mueller’s life and work in 1919, including his first solo exhibition (Galerie Paul Cassirer, Berlin), his appointment to the Academy in Breslau, his separation from his wife Maschka, and his return to Irene Altmann, he was able to spend a few weeks each summer on the island of Föhr, working by the sea and in the dunes, for the first time in six years. He repeated this summer stay in 1920.
