Sheet 8 of the portfolio “Otto Mueller. Verlag J. B. Neumann. Berlin. Graphisches Kabinett” Berlin 1922 (XXX numbered copies).

This portfolio of 10 lithographs was dedicated to one of Otto Mueller’s great loves: Irene Altmann. In the fall of 1921, this love fell apart due to differences in age or religion, or something else entirely—it is unknown. In this graphic series, Otto Mueller created a monument to her in portraits, scenes, and experiences and sights. Here, Irene Altmann lies quite defiantly on a sofa—in happier days.
