RARE trial proof; 1939/printed 1942; pencil signed, lower right; pencil dated “Paris le 28 Avril 1942” beneath signature; pencil dedicated “pour Frelaut” (re: printer Jacques Frelaut) above signature; printed by Jacques Frelaut on ivory Montval laid with Picasso watermark; Baer notes an edition of 54 unsigned and unnumbered proofs from 1942, this impression being from outside of that edition; edition of 65 impressions published in 1961.
A note on condition: Nearly pristine. Small rust spot on verso, not showing through; otherwise excellent.
