This etching is part of Picasso’s “La Suite Vollard,” a series of etchings created between 1930 and 1937. The suite is named after the art dealer Ambroise Vollard, who commissioned Picasso to create the series. “Les Baigneuses Surprises” (The Surprised Bathers) portrays a group of bathers in a playful and energetic composition.
