Two extremely fine, rare, large–and completely wonderful–marine etchings by René Paul HUET (1844-1928), son and follower of important 19th-century French artist Paul Huet (1803-1869).
1. (shown) “La tempête” (“The Storm”, 1902) after Jacob van Ruisdael. 40.5 x 54.5 cm (plate); 50 x 64 cm (sheet). An outstanding remarque proof printed on very fine Japanese wove paper with large margins. In perfect condition.
2. “Brisants, Granville” (“Breakers, Granville”, 1903) after Paul Huet. 39 x 54.5 (plate); 48.5 x 62.5 (sheet). An outstanding remarque proof printed on very fine laid paper with large margins. In perfect condition.
