Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll is our first edition by Peter Blake, published in collaboration with Dark Matter Studio. The print is based on a watercolour painting featured in the artist’s 2018 exhibition, A Life in Drawings and Watercolours, at Waddington Custot gallery, London. A renowned British Pop artist for over 60 years, Blake continues to derive his imagery from popular culture, seen particularly in his ongoing series of tattooed individuals. The intricate and brightly coloured tattoos decorating the figure’s body in Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll reference Pop imagery ranging from St George and the Dragon to the American flag and the bald eagle motif.
