- Title
- President
- Description
-
Famed co-conspirator of Hunter S. Thompson, Steadman’s work shares several key personality traits: a troubled relationship with sanity, an anarchic sense of humor, and at its core an unquestionable integrity. Steadman’s wry illustrations are both entirely surreal and endearingly honest.
1 of 8 prints that makes up the Leaders series.
"I thought I wanted to do a series of things on Leaders. People like Kings & Queens, Presidents, Judges, Assassins - anything that somebody would call a leader of something. Some cause or other or even simply an institution, like a judge. It occurred to me that they were in fact compelled to be those leaders through fate alone, so they became victims of fate. It was almost their destiny to be such."
