Richard Woods is a contemporary British artist and designer renowned for his playful exploration of surface, pattern, and architectural transformation. Best known for his signature woodgrain motif, Woods applies bold, cartoonish prints to a variety of surfaces, from walls and floors to furniture and entire buildings, reimagining mundane materials with a vibrant, graphic aesthetic.
His work blurs the boundaries between art, design, and architecture, often challenging perceptions of authenticity and craftsmanship by juxtaposing traditional motifs with modern, industrial techniques. Drawing inspiration from vernacular architecture and the DIY aesthetic, Woods’ projects range from public art installations to collaborations with global brands, all marked by his witty and visually striking approach.
