Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997) was a leading figure in the Pop Art movement, known for his bold, comic book-inspired paintings that playfully replicated the aesthetic of mass-produced images, with iconic works like “Whaam!” and “Drowning Girl.” His distinctive style employed Benday dots and thick black outlines, satirizing popular culture and challenging traditional notions of fine art.
