A longtime resident of New Mexico, painter/printmaker Scott Greene received his BFA in painting at California College of the Arts, and his MFA in painting from the University of New Mexico. His complex narratives address the dire conditions of the planet, taking on environmental concerns, popular culture, autobiographical and historical references in wry, post-industrial imagery. During his residency at Tamarind, Greene worked closely with a team of printers, ultimately creating an incisive drawing on stone that calls into question the veracity and sustainability of the natural world around us. Greene is represented by Catharine Clark Gallery in San Francisco and Turner Carroll Gallery in Santa Fe.
