“Just outside my old apartment was a little park, that took on a strange feeling when night fell. Ground-up lights along the fence cast a bizarre glow up into the surrounding trees, especially stirring in the early spring, before the trees are filled with leaves. Sitting outside drawing in the dark was difficult, as I had to let my eyes adjust to the paper each time I looked down at the drawing, or else I was unable to see my work.
