A deeply etched aquatint depicting a intense interior with light reflected on the floor from a window. Steve Stankiewicz is a printmaker, bookmaker and painter. For the last dozen or so years, he has been focusing on making artists’ books, the challenge being in creating a narrative, to move the viewer inexorably from beginning to end in a coherent and logically ordered manner, without dependency upon the written word. He has recently been exploring industrial imagery, mostly of Brooklyn and New York City.
